The Foundation provides funding which enables people with disabilities to stay living in their own homes and not at an institution. These include personal assistance, out-patient hospice care, emergency assistance, wheelchair-accessible transportation and contributions to caregivers towards respite care, therapy etc.
I’ve been struggling with mental issues, and I have a Disability certificate of the 2nd type. Now, since my own life has become reasonably organised, I found out that I could work as a peer consultant, helping people with similar problems. I needed a training course, the cost of which I wasn’t able to pay. Thanks to the Social Foundation help I could complete the training, do meaningful work and gain a little income.
